Georgia football could have its top running back available for Saturday's game against Vanderbilt but a starting wide receiver is out.
Nate Frazier warmed up ahead of Saturday’s 12:45 p.m. game against Vanderbilt. He fielded punts and was the first running back in line during some pregame drills, but when the first team offense warmed up before going to the locker room it was still Chauncey Bowens and Dwight Phillips as the top two running backs.
Isiah Canion, the Georgia Tech transfer receiver, has been ruled out due to the SEC availability report.
Frazier was listed as a game-time decison. Bowens and Phillips carried the load with Frazier sidelined with a ribs injury last week in the win over Oklahoma.
Canion is dealing with an apparent leg injury. The Bulldogs got a career-game from sophomore wide receiver Taylyn Taylor last week with 4 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. Canion was not participating with other wideouts during early pregame work.
With Frazier out last week, Phillips rushed for 84 yards on 8 carries including a 54-yard touchdown in the 41-13 win over Oklahoma last week.
Bowens ran for 26 yards on 9 carries with two touchdowns.
“He’s a great teammate,” Phillips said. “He was happy for us and that meant a lot for us.”
