It’s championship season in Colorado high school football.
The Class 2A state title game features unbeaten No. 2 Wellington vs. No. 4 Elizabeth.
The Eagles (12-0, 5-0 league) have looked like a juggernaut all season and are on a mission to avenge last year’s controversial title loss.
They’ll take on the Cardinals (10-2, 3-1) at CSU Pueblo’s Thunderbowl to cap off a weekend of small classification championship matchups.
Coloradoan reporter Chris Abshire and photographer Logan Newell will be posted up in Pueblo with live updates, photos and more from Wellington vs. Elizabeth.
