SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies football team is looking for its first ranked and Big Ten win this season and will host the No. 20 Iowa Hawkeyes at 6 p.m. PT on Friday at Husky Stadium in Seattle.

The Huskies are coming off a 25-21 loss against the No. 19 Southern California (USC) Trojans on Sept. 26. Despite the loss, the defense was able to show out and limited the Trojans to only 19 posts.

Washington's defense will be entering Friday coming off significant momentum, and it might have an added advantage in the form of a potential Iowa injury.

Hawkeyes senior quarterback Hank Brown was listed as questionable for Friday's game after suffering a sprain in his AC joint in his side's 31-14 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Oct. 3.

"I'd say there's definitely a little bit of question for sure," Brown said in an interview clip posted to "X" by 247Sports reporter Eliot Clough. "But I'm just trying to focus on taking it day-by-day and be able to do everything (in my part) to be prepared.

This season, Brown has completed 62.9% of his passes for 832 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. He's added another touchdown rushing.

In Brown's stead, Iowa's starting signal-caller would be junior Jeremy Hecklinski. He's completed 56.3% of his throws for 208 yards, one touchdown and an interception this season in three appearances.

Whether it's Brown or Hecklinski getting the start Friday, the Huskies are anticipating similar play calling and will be practicing as such.

"When both those guys have played, the scheme hasn't really changed," Washington defensive coordinator Ryan Walters said in a weekly news conference Tuesday. "So you don't necessarily game plan for one particular player when the offense doesn't change based on who's in there. The scheme is the scheme and we'll have our hands full with what they're doing offensively."

The Huskies will be one cornerback down when Iowa comes to town on Friday.

First-year cornerback Jeron Jones is listed as doubtful for Friday's game. However, UW will have its usual starting secondary back. Third-year nickelback/free safety Rahshawn Clark and fourth-year cornerback Emmanuel Karnley returned from injury and second-year cornerback Dylan Robinson had what Walters and head coach Jedd Fisch described as his best game.

The corners, in addition to second-year Rylon Dillard-Allen and fourth-year safeties Alex McLaughlin, held the USC offense to 245 yards and just one touchdown through the air.
