With a win on Saturday against the Michigan Wolverines, the Ohio State Buckeyes finished the 2025 regular season with a perfect 12-0 record.
This marks the first time that the program under head coach Ryan Day will entered the playoffs without a blemish on their record from the regular season.
Not only do the Buckeyes have a perfect regular season, but are also possess perfect 14-0 record in 2025. Rewind it even further, in the last 12 months since they lost to Michigan in 2024, they are 16-0 with seven wins over ranked opponents and a National Championship.
They are on a generational run and are not showing signs of slowing down.
Ohio State have split this season into four distinct quarters. The first quarter was lead by a challenge of the No. 1 team in the country, followed by two tune-up games.
Quarter two was headlined by the start of Big Ten play and a trip to Seattle in the first true road environment for the Buckeyes, while quarter three was the finish to the year, including Saturday's game against the Team Up North.
The final quarter, however, has yet to come, as the final segment is the postseason.
The Buckeyes have won every single quarter in incredibly convincing fashion. This began with a late August game against the then No. 1 Texas Longhorns, where they came to town as the most hyped team in the country. Ohio State's plan that week was "to just win." They knew they had to get a young quarterback ready for action.
Luckily for fans, the offensive line protected redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Sayin while also leaning on their defense, resulting in an excellent 1-0 start to the season.
Ohio State then jumped to the No. 1 team in the country, and they have not loosened their grip on that ranking. Day and company took care of business against Grambling State and the Ohio Bobcats and settled into their first bye week feeling good.
Quarter two started with a trip out to Washington to take on the Huskies in Seattle. This was a game that everyone had circled because it was going to be the Buckeyes' first test of their season. The offense started slow, but managed to turn up the heat and pulled away from the Huskies for a nice victory.
After that was a trip to Illinois, where they took care of business, and a trip to Madison, where they thumped the Wisconsin Badgers.
On the other side of the bye week was the third quarter of the season, the rivalry quarter. Ohio State kicked off the segment by hosting the Penn State Nittany Lions before a trip to Purdue and two home games against UCLA and Rutgers. They rolled through each of those games, setting up the marquee matchup with the Michigan Wolverines.
In a game that got off to a slow start, the Buckeyes asserted their dominance and took it to the Wolverines to finish out the third quarter with a perfect 12-0 record.
Quarter number four starts next week against the Indiana Hoosiers in Indianapolis. The Buckeyes enter the postseason as the hottest team in the country and have a repeat on their mind.
They took care of business in quarters one through three. It's time to finish the job.
