The Chicago comedian is celebrating a major milestone after his debut Netflix stand-up special, “I Know You Lying,” climbed to the top of the streamer’s U.S. rankings.

Mojo Brookzz has another reason to laugh.

The Chicago comedian’s debut Netflix stand-up special, “Mojo Brookzz: I Know You Lying,” has reached No. 1 on the streamer’s list of the top 10 shows in the United States, and he’s celebrating the achievement with his fans.

“Number FU**ING ONE!!!!” Brookzz wrote in an enthusiastic Instagram post, sharing a photo of his television screen displaying the ranking.

“Thank you for showing up for me yall! I’m proud of what I created & I’m happy that yall loving it! Keep running them numbers up! I KNOW YOU LYING,” he continued.

The milestone comes just a day after the special premiered on Netflix on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Filmed at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theater and directed by Mike Lavin, “I Know You Lying” features Brookzz delivering his signature unfiltered observations on relationships, BBL culture, celebrity encounters, and family life.

As theGrio previously reported, Brookzz, whose real name is Dyon Brooks, got his start creating viral comedy sketches on social media before building a following that eventually translated into sold-out tours, television appearances and opportunities to share the stage with established comedians.

His journey into comedy was also shaped by a deeply personal loss.

During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Brookzz recalled that his sister encouraged him to pursue comedy just two days before she died of cancer in 2013. He began creating sketches approximately six months later and eventually transitioned into stand-up.

His first comedy show was a far cry from the packed theaters he performs in today.

During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay,” Brookzz recalled performing for an audience of just four people.

“I remember going on stage, and I’m trying to tell these stories, but it wasn’t like a real good body of work for me to go off of,” he said.

But Brookzz continued developing his craft, eventually gaining attention through his online sketches and live performances.

His growing popularity led to a role on Nick Cannon’s “Wild ’N Out” and an opportunity to join Mike Epps’ “We Them Ones” arena tour.

Brookzz also plays Basil Henderson in Tyler Perry’s Netflix comedy series “Miss Governor.”

In 2025, he was named one of Variety’s Comics to Watch, another sign of his growing presence in the entertainment industry.

His success onstage has been equally impressive. According to his agency, WME, Brookzz’s previous “I Know You F—n’ Lying” tour sold more than 100,000 tickets across 40 cities.

Now, with his first Netflix special reaching the top of the rankings displayed in his social media post, Brookzz has another milestone to add to his résumé.

And judging by his reaction, he’s enjoying every minute of it.
