OXFORD — Ole Miss football‘s Egg Bowl win and Texas A&M’s loss to Texas resulted in a climb in the polls.

The Rebels are ranked No. 5 in the US LBM Coaches Poll released Nov. 30. Ole Miss was No. 6 in the previous poll. The movement was assisted by Texas A&M tumbling from No. 3 to No. 7 after a loss to No. 14 Texas.

Ole Miss beat Mississippi State 38-19 on Nov. 28. With the Egg Bowl win, the Rebels (11-1, 7-1 SEC) are almost certain to make their first College Football Playoff. Coach Lane Kiffin’s future is less certain. He is expected to become the next LSU coach, according to reports on Nov. 30.
