Georgia football claims No. 1 spot in AP Poll after Week 6

The Georgia Bulldogs had a good weekend for themselves as they defeated the then Alabama Crimson Tide in a close game, 20-17. It was a college football weekend caused a lot of shake-ups in the AP Top 25. For Georgia, it worked out great.
Georgia had been ranked No. 2 for a great part of the season. The No. 1 spot shifted from Ohio State to Texas after Texas beat Ohio State in September. But on Saturday, the Texas Longhorns lost to Oklahoma, 27-24. Texas dropped in the rankings, and now Georgia is now No. 1. Alabama is No. 6 after losing to Georgia.
The Bulldogs have been one of the best, if not the best, teams in college football this season. They're now undefeated at 6-0 with good wins against teams like Alabama, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt. Now, Georgia is the top dog after Week 6.
The Bulldogs will take on Auburn on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
"We're focusing on Auburn, really," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said on Monday. "I don't think I ever said anything after the game about going back and watching the tape of it. We watched the tape of it. It was extremely physical, and this one's going to be really physical, too. It was a really hard-fought game. Mistakes made both ways, but I promise you the page for us is focused on this Auburn team because they're well-rested and have a good football team coming in here."
