On Saturday, UCLA Bruins defeated Oregon Ducks 17-15 in Eugene, their first time since 2004, and exposed a struggling offense. Oregon's two-point conversion was unsuccessful, which would have tied the game. Oregon's first attempt was denied, but a facemask call on the Bruins gave them another chance.

The penalty, according to rule, results in the ball being placed half the distance to the goal from where the play ends. Instead, the ball was placed half the distance from the original line of scrimmage, and the Duck offense was stuffed again. The Big Ten issued a statement on Sunday to clarify a mistake made by the officials on the two-point try.

With 2:16 remaining in the fourth quarter of Saturday's UCLA-Oregon game. Big Ten officials incorrectly officiated Oregon's final two-point conversion attempt.

"Following the first attempt that resulted in a personal foul penalty for a facemask on the UCLA defense, the ball was spotted for the second attempt half-the-distance to the goal from the original line of scrimmage from the first attempt. Per rule, the ball should have been spotted half-the-distance to the goal from the end of the run of the first attempt. The Big Ten has been in contact with its officiating team since Saturday's game regarding the error and will continue to emphasize consistent application of the playing rules."

Oregon is 3-2 and hoping to get out of their own way on Saturday, October 17 against Nebraska (3:30 p.m. ET).
