Nico Radicic missed two field goals in the No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers’ 19-15 loss to the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon, but by the looks of Fox College Football’s official X account, his second missed kick never happened.
“Good snap, clean hold, Radicic is … pure,” Gus Johnson said of Radicic’s 55-yard field goal attempt late in the third quarter while on the call for Fox’s Big Noon Saturday broadcast.
But then officials signaled “no good,” and Johnson changed his tone. Quite literally. “No! He missed it! Again!” Johnson said. “The second miss of the day.”

Fox posted the clip of Radicic’s miss, but shortly afterward, it was deleted. While we don’t have an official explanation as to why Fox deleted the clip, one logical hypothesis could be that it was embarrassing for Johnson.
The Fox College Football account did keep up another clip wherein Johnson misjudged the call. It would be next to impossible to refrain from tweeting out the deciding play in one of the biggest games of the season, however.

On 4th-&-4 with 1:07 remaining in the fourth quarter, Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover found a wide-open Nick Marsh in the end zone.
“Throws it up! Marsh! Touchdown!” Johnson screamed in the booth.
For a brief second, viewers believed Indiana had pulled it out of the fire and handed the Buckeyes their second loss of the year.
But Marsh immediately put his hands on his head, realizing his feet were out of bounds, thus ending the defending-champion Hoosiers’ 22-game winning streak. A few beats later, Johnson yelled, “No!”

Johnson likely didn’t see Marsh’s feet clearly out of bounds until the replay made it clear to everyone. It happens. But his enthusiastic call of a touchdown that didn’t count made for a whiplash-inducing viewing experience.
