At the end of the day, the AP Top 25 went about as AP Top 25 as expected.

Winning teams moved up, losing teams moved down, no big whoop – except that BYU made a giant move up after its great win over Notre Dame, Ohio State crept up a bit, and Miami got the big prize despite needing double overtime to get by a mediocre Florida State. It’s all here in the latest AP rankings.

AP Coaches Poll Week 8 Quick Hits

  • The voters still aren’t 100% buying into the Big 12 yet. There are just five remaining unbeaten Power Four programs – Miami, UCLA, Texas Tech, Utah, and BYU. And if UCLA was named USC – and was the only unbeaten Big Ten team on October 18th – it would be the unquestioned No. 1.
  • The biggest winners in the latest AP Top 25: BYU (up 6), Houston (up 6), Miami (up 2 to No. 1)
  • The biggest losers in the latest AP Top 25: Texas (down 12, Alabama (down 7), Mississippi State and Oklahoma State (16 and 18, respectively, to out)
