The top linebacker in the country for the 2029 class was impressed during his visit to Michigan State this weekend.

The Spartans had a number of big-name prospects visit campus this weekend for their game against Northwestern. That included eventual five-star linebacker Austin Phillips of Kendallville, Ind.

Phillips visited Michigan State this past weekend and took to social media following the visit to show he was impressed. He stated in his social media X post that Michigan State had a "great environment" for his game day visit.

Check out the full social media post from Phillips below:

Phillips is listed on On3/Rivals as the No. 1 linebacker in the country for the 2029 class. He's also listed as the No. 1 player from Indiana and No. 8 overall prospect in the country.

Michigan State has already extended him an offer and is one of nearly 20 schools to offer him. He also holds notable offers from Notre Dame, Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan, Purdue, Louisville, Tennessee, Penn State, USC, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and UNLV.

Getting Phillips on campus is big for the Spartans. But they have al long way to go in his recruitment. They'll need to post better results on the field to have any chance at competing with the likes of Notre Dame, Indiana and Ohio State for this prized prospect.
