Michigan State football won a massive recruiting battle this past summer when they earned the commitment of TJ Umenyiora. The son of longtime NFL great pass rusher Osi Umenyiora, the Spartans are getting a strong NFL pedigree in East Lansing.

Following the coaching change from Jonathan Smith to Pat Fitzgerald, every recruit was up in the air, not knowing if they would sign or not. Umenyiora took to X to announce his decision.

The NFL legacy will sign with Michigan State on Wednesday, bringing his talents to East Lansing. A Roswell (GA) native, the 3-star prospect chose the Spartans over Auburn, Mississippi State and Northwestern. He will be a welcomed addition to the 2026 recruiting class.
