Iowa State football defensive coordinator Jon Heacock will join head coach Matt Campbell at Penn State, according to a Sunday report by On3.
Campbell was named Nittany Lions head coach on Friday. Heacock just finished his 10th season as Cyclones defensive coordinator, where he built some of the nation's best defenses in recent years.
Heacock was named a finalist for the Broyles Award in 2017 and was again a nominee for the award in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The Broyles Award is presented annually to the top assistant coach in college football.
Washington State's Jimmy Rogers has been hired as Iowa State's new head coach. He will be formally introduced during a news conference Monday in Ames.
