Michigan football may not have the best record in college football with two losses. And it may not look good all of the time (such as the closer-than-expected games against Michigan State and Purdue). And while the coaches and Associated Press both put out their weekly rankings, there's only one that matters as it pertains to the postseason: the College Football Playoff rankings.
The Wolverines did make the cut in the first go-round as put out by the College Football Playoff rankings committee. The maize and blue came in at No. 21, with one win over a ranked team (No. 23 Washington), and two losses to others (No. 12 Oklahoma and No. 19 USC). No. 1 Ohio State looms at the end of the regular season.
