MANHATTAN — A pair of key Kansas State football defenders will enter the transfer portal, according to national reports.

Defensive end Ryan Davis and cornerback Donovan McIntosh are set to depart the Wildcats, according to various national reports on Wednesday, Dec. 17.

The two become the latest to have their transfer portal intentions announced, joining a group of over a dozen soon-to-be former Wildcats. Jayce Brown and Colby McCalister are among the most recent.

Davis was unable to live up to his preseason hype in 2025 due to injuries that hampered him before the Wildcats’ Week 0 game against Iowa State. He appeared in nine games, totaling 351 snaps, and recorded four sacks and 10 pressures.

The 6-foot-4, 252-pound sophomore was a regular member of the Wildcats’ pass-rush rotation as a redshirt-freshman in 2024, recording 2.5 sacks.

McIntosh was the Wildcats’ highest-graded cornerback, according to Pro Football Focus, while starting every game but four. When targeted 41 times in 2025, he allowed 21 catches for 256 yards and two touchdowns, while also intercepting a pass and breaking up two. McIntosh was a breakout sophomore after playing 55 snaps as a redshirt-freshman in 2024.

Kansas State will have some turnover on its defensive staff. Former defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman departed the program to take the same role at Baylor.
