Colorado defensive tackle Brandon Davis-Swain plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2, according to On3/Rivals Hayes Fawcett.

Davis-Swain joins a growing list of Buffs set to depart. That group includes top wide receiver Omarion Miller, starting safety Tawfiq Byard and promising young freshman Carde Smith and Mantrez Walker.

In Colorado’s 2024 recruiting class, four-star Davis-Swain was the fourth-highest-rated signee. He started in eight games this past season, finishing with 15 total tackles, three quarterback hurries, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Davis-Swain appeared to be a key piece for the Buffs’ future, but will now play elsewhere in 2026.

Defensive line will be high on the priority list for Deion Sanders’ recruiting staff, especially with the loss of Davis-Swain. The Buffs lacked a pass rush and were a very leaky run defense in 2025. Shoring up both defensive issues would go a long way toward improving a 3-9 season.
