Nick Saban blasts the CFP for picking ‘Triple-A’ teams over Notre Dame
One of the biggest names in college football, multiple championship winning former Alabama head coach Nick Saban, still has plenty of say in the game.
On Thursday, the ESPN analyst joined Pat McAfee and was asked about James Madison and Tulane getting into the field over Notre Dame, and he was very blunt with his assessment. He said “would be allow the winner of the AAA baseball league… into the World Series playoff? … That’s the equivalent of what we do when JMU gets in the College Football Playoff and Notre Dame doesn’t.”
Preach coach! That’s exactly how we feel about the situation also. Sure, they had a great season, but are they really a better football team than the Irish? Not many feel that is the case.
The conversation hasn’t stopped since Notre Dame was snubbed out of the CFP, and it will certainly continue as the games are played and as we enter the offseason. Except more to question the inclusion of JMU and Tulane, especially if they struggle to put up a fight during the first round games this weekend.
