Auburn edge Jamonta Waller is planning on entering the the transfer portal, per On3.
A coveted four-star prospect out of Picayune Memorial High School in Mississippi during the 2024 recruiting cycle with the likes of Penn State and Florida pursing his commitment.
Nationally ranked No. 95, No. 8 at his position, and No. 2 in the state of Mississippi by 247Sports. Late into the cycle, Waller flipped his commitment from Florida to Auburn.
Waller in his two seasons at Auburn was not a productive one as many had hoped. The edge rusher managed to log just two total tackles in two games during the 2024 season.
His freshman season was derailed after suffering ligament damage to his foot during a practice. The Tigers didn't see him touch the field at all in 2025.
The redshirt freshman will have three years of eligibility left. Auburn loses a depth piece of defense as the portal list continues to grow. Transfer portal opens Jan. 2.
