With the Texas A&M season officially wrapped up, players are now beginning to make decisions about their future plans. Playing time and coaching changes are two of the leading reasons players enter the portal, and most of the time, we never get a clear answer. However, transfers are inevitable, and the first Aggie has officially thrown his hat into the ring.
On Monday, Hayes Fawcett of On3Sports reported that sophomore linebacker Tristan Jernigan is expected to transfer when the portal opens in a few weeks.
The former three-star remained through the coaching change, but with how deep the LB room is and several blue-chip recruits added, getting on the field next season could be a challenge. A fresh start might be exactly what he needs, and he will still have three years of eligibility remaining.
