Washington vs Wisconsin Prediction, Preview, and Betting Lines

Wisconsin got a touchdown against Oregon. That’s a start.
The offense has scored a grand total of 27 points now in the five Big Ten games, but at least it didn’t get totally whacked by the Ducks in a 21-7 loss – but it was in a driving rainstorm.
In a glass-is-half-full-of-flat-Pepsi sort of way, the Badgers are still not ineligible for a bowl yet, but they get Indiana next, then Illinois, and close out against Minnesota.
Washington lost to Ohio State and Michigan, but it’s still 6-2, and it has three relative layups against Purdue and UCLA after this. Do that, get to 9-2, and if it wins at Oregon, the College Football Playoff is on the table.
But first, there can’t be so much as a hiccup here, even if it’s in Madison.

Why Washington Will Win
Wisconsin still has a problem doing that whole scoring thing.
It came up with a touchdown against Oregon, and it seemed like the program won Christmas.
The passing game is a total mess. Over the last four games, it’s connecting around 38% of its throws, and there’s been one rushing touchdown since Week 2 against Middle Tennessee.
The Washington defense isn’t anything amazing, but it’s good enough against the run, and the two games the team lost – Ohio State and Michigan – were the two times the pass defense couldn’t stop the short-to-midrange passes.
The Buckeyes and Wolverines combined to complete 77% of their throws against Wisconsin – that’s not happening with the Badger quarterback situation in a constant state of flux. But …
Why Wisconsin Will Win
Does the distance thing matter?
Washington had to travel beyond the state lines just twice so far. It was totally ineffective in the loss to Michigan, and had to work way too hard in a close-call late win over Maryland.
The Husky defense is fine, but it doesn’t bring a pass rush, and it doesn’t do enough to generate third down stops. If ever the Badgers were going to find a running game, this is the time to do it.
Teams haven’t run enough on Washington – it faced a slew of passing teams. The only two times anyone ran the ball more than 30 times against the Huskies were against … Ohio State and Michigan.
Washington vs Wisconsin Prediction, Betting Lines
At some point, Wisconsin is going to pull a strong performance out of its Bucky.
The defense hasn’t been bad. On the flip side, considering there’s no offense, the D has held up shockingly well. This has to be an ugly, low-scoring game with a few breaks to finally go the home UW’s way.
They won’t.
The passing game is too bad, and because of it, the ground attack isn’t going anywhere.
