There was a positive update for Ole Miss football injured started running back Kewan Lacy on Dec. 28.

Quarterback coach Joe Judge said Lacy was at practice earlier in the day. He did not, however, say whether Lacy will play in the Sugar Bowl.

“He was out there with us today,” Judge said. “At this point in the season, no one’s 100%. I’ll let the head coach (Pete Golding) handle the injury updates.”

Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss said: “I think Kewan will have a great game this game.”

The No. 6 seed Rebels (12-1) are playing No. 3 Georgia (12-1) in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals on Jan. 1 (7 p.m., ESPN) in New Orleans.

Lacy injured his shoulder in Ole Miss‘ first-round win against Tulane on Dec. 20. He exited the game twice and did not return after departing in the third quarter.

The first injury report for Ole Miss vs Geogia will be released on Dec. 29.

Logan Diggs and Damien Taylor are listed as Lacy’s backups on the Ole Miss depth chart.
