Backup Missouri football offensive tackle Johnny Williams IV will enter the transfer portal, he confirmed via his social media account Tuesday.
Williams is the second depth Mizzou offensive lineman to announce they will transfer this offseason and the 11th MU player in total. The college football transfer portal officially opens Jan. 2 and will remain open for new entries through Jan. 16.
Matt Zenitz at 247Sports first reported the news that Williams was entering the transfer portal, and the offensive tackle reposted that report to his own X/Twitter account.

Williams has promising size at 6 foot 7, 327 pounds and was once viewed as a frontrunner to secure the starting role at left tackle after transferring to the Tigers from West Virginia last offseason.
But that promise quite materialized in his lone season in Columbia. Before Cayden Green made the switch from guard to left tackle, Williams was working behind Jayven Richardson in practice at the position.
Once the season started, Williams was listed as the Tigersâ backup to Keagen Trost at right tackle on the depth chart.
Trost, a seventh-year senior, earned third-team All-American honors from the AP this season and was one of Pro Football Focusâ highest-graded SEC offensive tackles. He played the second-most snaps (891) of any player on the Missouri roster this season.
Williams ended up only appearing in three games with 52 total snaps this season behind Trost. They were all cleanup reps in Mizzouâs nonconference matchups against Central Arkansas, Louisiana and UMass.
He is the second reserve Mizzou offensive lineman to announce he will enter the portal, following backup guard/center Henry Fenuku.
The Tigers are now expected to lose 11 players via the portal when it opens Friday, Jan. 2, with starting quarterback Beau Pribula and wide receivers Joshua Manning and Marquis Johnson among that group.
Mizzou, which finished its 2025 season 8-5 with a loss to Virginia in the Gator Bowl, is likely to be active looking for a right tackle in the transfer portal. Trost is out of eligibility, meaning Missouri will now head into 2026 without its starter and backup at the positon.
