DeMonte Capehart’s time at Clemson has officially come to a close, and the next step in his football career is already taking shape.

The veteran defensive tackle has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl, adding another postseason milestone after recently declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft. The all-star game will be held Jan. 27 at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on NFL Network, giving Capehart another opportunity to showcase his game in front of NFL scouts.

Capehart wraps up a six-year career with the Tigers as one of the more dependable pieces along the defensive front in recent seasons. Over the last two years, he became a consistent part of the rotation, starting 12 games and appearing in 23. Across his entire Clemson career, the 6-foot-5, 315-pound lineman totaled 72 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble, and five pass breakups. This past season alone, he was credited with 21 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, and two pass breakups.

Following the season, Capehart took to Instagram to reflect on his journey, thanking the coaches, teammates, and fans who supported him along the way. He made it clear that his focus has now shifted fully toward the professional level, announcing his decision to pursue the NFL Draft.

Capehart did not play in Clemson’s Pinstripe Bowl loss to Penn State after declaring, choosing instead to prepare for the draft process.
