The clock has struck midnight on Jan. 2 on the East Coast, meaning the transfer portal has officially opened.

Over 1,000 names have been entered into the portal, with more surely to come soon. With the opening of the portal comes the search for a new school, as players will be announcing the schedule of what programs they’re visiting.

The Oregon Ducks have been one of the top transfer destinations during head coach Dan Lanning‘s tenure, producing success stories such as safety Dillon Thieneman, defensive tackle Bear Alexander and wide receiver Malik Benson standing out in 2025 alone.

UAB Blazers wide receiver Iverson Hooks, who announced his intentions of entering the portal last week, officially released the seven schools that he’ll visit, with the Ducks among them. He has visit dates scheduled for Wisconsin, Indiana, Oklahoma State, LSU and Auburn, with dates for visits to Oregon and Louisville listed as to be announced.

Hooks is a redshirt junior, having spent the first four seasons of his career at UAB. He recorded under 200 receiving yards in both 2023 and 2024, but broke out as the Blazers’ leading receiver this season, totaling 927 yards and seven touchdowns on 72 receptions. Despite his standout efforts, UAB finished 4-8.

At 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, Hooks is a jitterbug out of the slot. He’s not a deep threat, as he averaged just 12.9 yards per catch, but he’s dangerous with the ball in his hands due to his speed.

The Alabama native is rated as a three-star transfer by 247 Sports, coming in as the No. 40 wide receiver in the portal and No. 159 player overall.

Due to a season-ending injury in which he played in just three games during his redshirt freshman season, Hooks will have two seasons of eligiblity remaining.
