Michigan State football names Players of the Game for week one

Michigan State football opened the 2026 football season with a big time win over Toledo on Friday night, defeating the Rockets, 30-20. The win marked the first of the Pat Fitzgerald era, and got the program off on the right foot while under it's new regime.

While the page is getting turned towards Eastern Michigan, the Spartans had one more piece of business to conclude before week two officially comes on the docket, and that would be naming players of the game.

For the offense, Rodney Bullard received the honor as the Spartans Player of the Game. He caught seven passes for 90 yards and the game winning touchdown in the win over the Rockets.

Defensively, defensive tackle transfer Eli Coenen received the honor of being the Player of the Game. He finished with three tackles and a sack in the game.

Last but not least, to no one's surprise, the special teams player of the game honors went to Liam Boyd. The Charlotte Transfer had an amazing 5-for-6 effort on field goal attempts, with a long of 52.
