Lane Kiffin Makes a Post After Ole Miss Stuns Georgia in Sugar Bowl

The No. 6 seed Ole Miss Rebels entered the College Football Playoff with a new head coach in Pete Golding.

Lane Kiffin left for the LSU Tigers head coaching job, and Golding, who was the Rebels’ defensive coordinator, was named the new head coach.

Ole Miss then began the College Football Playoff with a dominant 41-10 win over the No. 11 Tulane Green Wave.

On New Year’s Day, Ole Miss continued its impressive run by defeating the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl, 39-34.

It was a back-and-forth game, and Georgia tied it at 34 with less than a minute to go. But, Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss engineered a drive down the field that ended with Lucas Carneiro hitting the game-winning 47-yard field goal.

Kiffin posted on X with a red flag right after the game ended, but then the officiating crew gave Ole Miss two points from a safety and put a little time on the clock before the game ended once and for all.

The flag was a flag from the country of Trinidad, which seems to be a nod to the Rebels QB.

Then, Kiffin posted again after the game officially came to an end.

“What a great finish!!! So much fun!! Only two more to go ⁦@OleMissFB⁩.”

Initially, Kiffin was expected to be in attendance for the Sugar Bowl, but a report surfaced that Kiffin would not be on hand for the game on New Year’s Day.

Still, he is clearly rooting for his former team, and now the Rebels are two wins away from a national championship.

Ole Miss will face the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes in the Fiesta Bowl on January 8.
