One of the biggest weaknesses for Michigan State football in the Jonathan Smith era was the pass rush. So it's not a big surprise to see MSU looking at the transfer portal to shore up that part of their defense, especially under new head coach Pat Fitzgerald, who is known as a defensive-minded coach. On Friday, it was reported that the Spartans are going to bring in Troy edge rusher DJ Jackson Jr. for a visit.
Jackson is rated as a 3-star transfer by 247Sports. He started his career with Carson Newman College of the JUCO league before transferring to Troy for this past season. Jackson had 22 tackles, five tackles for loss, and two sacks this past season for the Trojans.
