Don Mahoney will not return as Webb football coach after three seasons, the school announced on Nov. 6.

The Spartans went 1-9 in 2025, their lone victory being a 34-26 win over Chattanooga Christian on Oct. 24.

"We are deeply grateful for Don's commitment to our Spartan players and the program over these past three season," said athletic director Dan Gill. "Don's time at Webb has been marked by dedication, hard work and support of our student-athletes, and we wish him the very best in his next chapter. He has represented our football program with unwavering grace, humility and integrity, and he has cared tremendously for each and every student-athlete in his program while helping them pursue their full academic and athletic potential."

Mahoney took over program in 2023 and led the Spartans to a 10-2 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the DII-AA TSSAA football playoffs.

Webb went 5-5 in 2024.
