Michigan State DL transfer schedules two visits to powerhouse teams

Michigan State football lost a veteran defensive lineman to the transfer portal, when Jalen Thompson decided to move on from his time in East Lansing, finding a new home. Now, a couple of powerhouse schools are eyeing up the former Spartan.

The first two visits scheduled by Thompson will be Notre Dame and Texas A&M. According to 247Sports' Allen Trieu, a visit to Mississippi State is also on the table.

A 6-foot-3 and 260 pound defensive end, the Detroit (MI) native was a significant player for the Spartans over the last three seasons. He racked up 66 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in his MSU career.

A former four-star commit from Cass Tech, Thompson was a member of Michigan State's 2023 recruiting class, and will have one year of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
