Texas' 2025 season came to an end in a Citrus Bowl win over Michigan earlier this week. Like most other teams, they're now losing players in droves to the transfer portal. One such player is currently roommates with star QB Arch Manning.
Taking to X on Friday, Texas wide receiver Parker Livingstone announced that he is entering the transfer portal and leaving the football program.
"Never did I think growing up I would have the opportunity to play for Texas. It was a dream come true, and the last 24 months have been the best time of my life. Thank you Coach Sark for taking a chance on me. Thank you Coach Chris Jackson for pouring into me everyday. He is directly responsible for my development over the past 2 years. He is a fantastic coach and even better man. Thank you to my teammates who I went into battle with and who are still some of my best friends will be the rest of my life.
"Want to thank all the young Longhorn fans I've met over the past two years, who wear my jersey as that means more to me than you will ever know. I was that same kid not that long ago; hope I have given them a blueprint that belief in yourself and extreme hard work is a recipe for achieving all of your goals.
“Never in a million years did I think I would be going into the portal looking for a new home. Some things are out of my control. Such is the reality of the ever-changing landscape of college football. Emptied my tank every day for this great university, my teammates & all of the good folks of Texas. Grateful.”

Livingstone was a valuable weapon for the Longhorns, recording 29 receptions for 516 yards and six touchdowns. He was second on the team in touchdown receptions and third overall in touchdowns scored. Livingstone also threw the touchdown pass that Manning caught in their win over Arkansas.
Good Luck, Parker
Longhorns have by and large been supportive of Livingstone given the situation. Most of the replies to his post on X have been met by well wishes and thankful messages:
"We love you, Parker. No matter where you land, Longhorn Nation will always be rooting for you. Thank you for giving the burnt orange your all. Go be great! We can’t wait to see all of the amazing things you’re going to do," one fan wrote.
"Go be great Parker! An outstanding Longhorn with a long bright football future ahead of you!" wrote another.
"That last paragraph is heartbreaking. Will be rooting for you wherever you land next," a third replied.
"Hate to see you leave, but wish you all the best. Thank you and best of luck to you, young man!"
2025 was an up-and-down year for Texas. The downs included a Week 1 loss to Ohio State, followed by losses to unranked Florida and eventual SEC champion Georgia.
The highs included wins over ranked Oklahoma and Vanderbilt, knocking off rival Texas A&M and ending their undefeated season, and finishing with a bowl win over No. 18 Michigan.
Expectations will be high again in 2026.
