New QB1?
It looks like it as the Colorado State football team has landed a commitment from former Oklahoma State quarterback Hauss Hejny.
Hejny announced his commitment on social media on Jan. 5.
The 6-foot Hejny is a former four-star recruit who suffered a broken foot in the first quarter of OSU's 2025 season opener against UT Martin and didn't play again. In that quarter he completed five of 10 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown and ran four times for 27 yards and a touchdown.
He spent the 2024 season at TCU prior to transferring to Oklahoma State. At TCU, Hejny (pronounced HOSS Hay-nee) played in four games and had 15 carries for 65 yards.
In a small bit of irony, Hejny was teammates with former CSU quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi at Aledo High School in Texas.
In 2021 when Fowler-Nicolosi was a senior and the starting QB, Hejny was a sophomore and caught 26 passes for 648 yards and seven touchdowns.
Hejny then took over QB duties once Fowler-Nicolosi left for CSU. As a senior in 2023 he completed 66% of his passes for 2,773 yards, 27 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He ran for 1,041 yards and 13 touchdowns that season.
Hejny is considered a high-speed runner and very mobile quarterback.

Here are his total high school varsity stats at Aledo:
- Passing: 279-440 (63.4%), 5,021 yards, 50 touchdowns, 18 interceptions
- Rushing: 270 carries, 2,462 yards (9.1 yards per carry), 29 touchdowns
- Receiving (2021 only season at receiver): 26 catches, 648 yards, seven touchdowns
Aledo went a combined 30-2 in his two seasons as starting QB, winning back-to-back Texas 5A Division I state championships. That included a perfect 16-0 as a senior. He began his high school starting QB career 0-2 and then won 30 games in a row.
Hejny was rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports out of high school, with the site placing him as the nation’s No. 12 quarterback recruit, the No. 30 overall player in Texas and the No. 182 overall recruit nationally.
He also competed in track and field with multiple 100-meter times under 11 seconds and a 20-feet, 10.5-inch mark in the long jump.
