The Georgia Bulldogs are right in the mix in the SEC and the College Football Playoff mix, but unfortunately, they got word on Thursday night that they will likely be without one of their starting defenders going forward.
According to a report from CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, starting defensive lineman Jordan Hall is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury suffered last week against the Florida Gators. Hall, who was helped off the field vs. the Gators, has started all eight of the Bulldogs' games this year, racking up 12 tackles and two tackles for loss.
As a former 5-star recruit, Hall was a big part of Georgia's defense, mucking up the running lanes and getting after the quarterback.
While Georgia likely will still be fine in the trenches going forward against the likes of Mississippi State and Charlotte, their remaining games against both the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets could prove more challenging.
Earlier this week, Georgia was ranked No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings, giving them a home game in the first round of the playoffs should they be able to hold that ranking.
