AUBURN — Cam Coleman is officially departing the Plains, as the former Auburn football wide receiver announced Sunday, Jan. 11, he’d be transferring to Texas for the 2026 season.

Coleman, a rising junior and Phenix City native, was the program’s darling from the time he committed, flipping from Texas A&M to the Tigers on Dec. 1, 2023, weeks from signing day. Coleman, a top-five prospect nationally, made good on his verbal pledge and signed with Auburn later that month, becoming the second-highest-rated signee in program history.

In two seasons, Coleman caught 93 passes for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns. His freshman season was a slow burn as he logged 598 yards and eight touchdowns on 37 receptions. But the bulk of those totals — 22 receptions, 306 yards and six touchdowns — came in his final three games.

Coleman caught 56 passes this past season and set a career high with 708 receiving yards, but he caught just five touchdown passes.
