Eight days after being announced as Oklahoma State’s new head football coach, Eric Morris has his first signing class.
Early signing day for the 2026 recruiting class took place Wednesday, and Morris, who is still coaching North Texas in its American Conference Championship Game on Friday, made a mad dash in building a class for the past week. With all the turnover and staff changes a week before signing day, it created an unusual signing day that was more difficult to predict
OSU had several decommitments after the firing of former coach Mike Gundy on Sept. 23, and more came after Morris’ hiring, with Morris also extending offers of his own. Entering Wednesday, OSU had only four verbal commits, but by 8 a.m., 13 new Cowboys were signed. In total, OSU signed 15 players, and the class ranked No. 86 nationally, according to 247Sports.
Here’s a look at who the Cowboys signed. All star-ratings are according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Landon Bland, Edge, Carthage, Missouri
Bland committed to OSU on March 14 and stuck it out through the Gundy firing and Morris hiring. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound edge rusher also plays some tight end at Carthage High School. Bland is a three-star commit who chose OSU over offers from Iowa State, Kansas State, Michigan, Nebraska and others.
Isaiah Bowman, Offensive Line, Conway, Arkansas
Bowman was one of many flips Wednesday. The 6-3, 295-pound offensive lineman from Conway High School was committed to Arkansas State heading into signing day before choosing the Cowboys. Bowman, a three-star, projects as an interior offensive lineman. He was recruited by Morris at UNT and picked OSU over Arkansas State, Colorado State and others.
Mark Brown III, Defensive Back, Corsicana, Texas
Brown, 6-foot, 185 pounds, is the first of seven of Morris’ UNT commits to switch to OSU on signing day. The three-star safety from Corsicana High School had been committed to Morris since June. He chose OSU over offers from Lafayette, UTEP and Washington State.
Marrel Davis III, Defensive Back, Humble, Texas
Davis, 6-2, 190 pounds, was committed to play at Texas State since April but elected to go with the Cowboys on signing day. The three-star cornerback from Summer Creek High School picked OSU over offers from Texas State, Louisiana Tech, Utah State and others.
Taurean Davis, Linebacker, Southaven, Mississippi
Davis is an intriguing pick-up from the junior-college ranks. The 6-2, 230-pound linebacker from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 2 JUCO linebacker in the class. After a 45-tackle season in Year 1 last season, Davis has 89 this season. He earned more than a dozen Division-I offers and chose OSU over Arkansas, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Western Kentucky and others.
Jaqwon Evans, Offensive Line, Shawnee
Evans, a 6-6, 295-pound in-state product from Shawnee High School, was a North Texas commit but flipped to OSU on Wednesday. This wasn’t the first time Morris signed a player from Shawnee, as he recruited UNT freshman starting running back Caleb Hawkins from Shawnee last year. Evans, a three-star offensive tackle, picked OSU over offers from North Texas, Northeastern State, UTEP and others.
Nygel Farsee, Defensive Line, Little Rock, Arkansas
Farsee, a three-star defensive tackle, was another North Texas commit. The 6-3, 305-pound Farsee played at Parkview Magnet High School and chose OSU over offers from Arkansas State, Sacramento State, Yale and others.
Eli Holbrook, Offensive Line, Arlington, Texas
Holbrook was the first official commit of the Morris era at OSU, as he announced his commitment Tuesday night. He originally committed to Wake Forest and quickly flipped the night before signing day. Holbrook, 6-3, 290 pounds, is projected to play on the interior in college. The three-star from Arlington High School picked OSU over New Mexico, Wake Forest, San Diego State, Tulane and others.
KD Jones, Running Back, Jenks
The final commitment Wednesday was the biggest. Jones, the No. 6 player in the state and No. 33 running back in the country, committed to OSU in March but decommitted after Gundy’s firing and flipped to Kansas in October. Morris was able to flip Jones, a high-end three-star, back to OSU on Wednesday afternoon. The 5-10, 175-pound Jones is the all-time leading rusher at Jenks High School with 4,757 yards. Jones chose OSU over offers from 30 Division-I schools, including Alabama, OU, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.
O’Ryan Mosley, Offensive Line, Houma, Louisiana
Mosley, a three-star, received offers from the likes of Arkansas, Penn State, Houston, TCU and others during his time at Terrebonne High School, but he committed to North Texas this summer. Mosley, 6-3, 305 pounds, teased a switch in his commitment Tuesday night on social media before making it official. He projects to play on the interior.
Braeden Presley, Defensive Back, Bixby
Make that 3 for 3 on signing Presley brothers at OSU. Brennan Presely committed to OSU in 2020 and went on to make the most catches and play in the most games in OSU history. Braylin Presley began his career at OSU and now plays at Tulsa. Now, Braeden, a 3-star safety from Bixby High School, is an OSU commit, but the first of his brothers to play defense at OSU. Braeden, 6-0, 190 pounds, has 31 tackles and five interceptions for the Spartans this season. He committed to OSU on July 3 and maintained that pledge over offers from Arizona, Iowa, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and others.
Kole Seaton, Offensive Line, Mesquite, Texas
Seaton was one of Morris’ biggest gets on signing day. Originally committed to Baylor since November 2024, Seaton, a three-star offensive tackle from Mesquite Horn High School, was offered by Morris and the Cowboys on Tuesday. At 6-6, 270, Seaton has the frame to become a force on the frontlines. He’s a high-end three-star and picked the Cowboys over Arizona, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, Tulane and others.
Jabarie Thornton, Wide Receiver, Waco, Texas
Thornton is one of two wide receivers who signed Wednesday. He committed to OSU in April but decommitted when Gundy was fired. Thornton, a three-star, then committed to North Texas in November before following Morris back to OSU on signing day. The 5-11, 175-pound wideout has caught 76 passes for 1,112 yards and 15 TDs this season at La Vega High School. He chose OSU over Arkansas, Baylor, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon and others.
Broderick “Brodie” Vehrs, Quarterback, Chandler, Arizona
Morris has been known to find overlooked quarterbacks, and Vehrs fits that billing. Vehrs, 6-0, 195 pounds, had other offers from Northern Iowa, North Texas, Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. He was committed to NAU before flipping to UNT in June and finally settling with the Cowboys on signing day. Vehrs, a three-star, has thrown for 1,532 yards and 18 touchdowns in 10 games this season at Basha High School.
Jani “JT” Weir, Wide Receiver, Sammamish, Washington
Weir is OSU’s second JUCO commit of the class, coming from Fullerton College in Washington, where he’s caught 43 passes for 877 yards and 10 TDs this season. Before Fullerton, Weir began his career at Eastern Washington in 2023. Weir, 5-10, 175 pounds, is an unranked JUCO product, but he has speed in the slot – listed at a 4.38 40-yard dash time in his X bio – and was committed to UNT under Morris. He picked OSU over Ball State, New Mexico State, Temple, Toledo and others.
