Auburn football’s recruiting hot streak continued Tuesday when it landed four-star Mobile linebacker Isaac McNeil, winning the race over SEC rivals Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
McNeil’s pledge was the second of the day, with three-star cornerback Aidyn Wiggins announcing his commitment to the Auburn Tigers just a few hours before. Auburn has also landed five players since last weekend’s rounds of official visits concluded, and eight total since May 17.
It is hard to imagine Auburn’s success slowing down anytime soon. Who could be the next to join Auburn’s 2027 class? All signs point to a pair of EDGE rushers from Maryland.
Rion Jackson and James Pace, four-star EDGE rushers from the state of Maryland, are trending to Auburn according to the latest predictions from Rivals recruiting experts. Both were on campus last weekend as part of the massive official visit event, and Auburn appears to be the team to watch for these top 30 pass rushers.
Auburn is viewed as the favorite to land Jackson ahead of his June 10 commitment date, with five favorable predictions between 247Sports and Rivals. Virginia Tech, which is seen as Auburn’s greatest competitor, will host Jackson for an official visit this weekend, and it is expected that the picture will become clearer for the No. 28 EDGE rusher from the 2027 recruiting cycle after his trip to Blacksburg.
Pace will visit Tennessee, Syracuse, Georgia, and Maryland before announcing his decision on June 19; however, Auburn is in a great spot heading into this month’s decision, with predictions from Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons favoring Auburn to land the No. 18 EDGE from the 2027 class, bringing their forecast to 91%. 247Sports’ National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn has also submitted a prediction that connects Pace to Auburn.
Following the recent commitment marathon, Auburn ranks No. 14 in Rivals’ 2027 rankings and No. 19 in 247Sports’ rankings with 14 pledges.
