Miami’s home game against Virginia Tech will be on Saturday, Nov. 21, instead of Friday, Nov. 20, the ACC announced on Friday.
The change means the Hurricanes will have three weekday games in 2026 instead of four.
UM’s first three games will all be on weeknights. Miami opens the season on the road against Stanford on Friday, Sept. 4. The following week, UM hosts Florida A&M on Thursday, Sept. 10. The Hurricanes then travel to North Carolina to play Wake Forest on Friday, Sept. 18. The rest of Miami’s games are all on Saturdays.
The Hurricanes are 27-15 all-time against the Hokies. UM has won five straight matchups dating back to 2019, which was also the last time Virginia Tech beat Miami at Hard Rock Stadium. The last time the Hurricanes and Hokies played at Hard Rock Stadium, starting quarterback Cam Ward led a comeback and Miami won on a controversial call in the end zone.
UM beat Virginia Tech 34-17 in Blacksburg, Virginia, last year.
The Hokies went 3-9 last year and fired head coach Brent Pry. Virginia Tech’s new head coach is former Vanderbilt and Penn State coach James Franklin, who has a 128-60 record. He has never coached against Miami.
