The Ada High School football team claimed six of the top honors when the District 4A-4 awards were announced.

Inside linebacker Kelton Stipe was named the district’s Defensive MVP, while quarterback Brock Boyles earned co-Offensive MVP honors alongside Hilldale’s Brady Scott.

Stipe led the Cougars’ defense, leading the team with 106 total tackles. He added one sack, two tackles for loss and an interception during a strong senior season.

Boyles put together a record-shattering campaign, completing 141 of 263 passes for 2,522 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also rushed for 105 yards and five scores. Boyles plans to continue his career at East Central University.

Camariee Richardson was named Defensive Back of the Year after recording 39 tackles from his cornerback position while regularly locking down opposing receivers.

Caron Richardson earned Running Back of the Year honors after rushing for 1,917 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Keeping it in the Richardson family, Lakievin Richardson was selected as Wide Receiver of the Year. The explosive receiver finished with a team-best 56 receptions for 1,139 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Left tackle Dawson Matthews, who signed earlier this month with the University of Tulsa, was named Offensive Lineman of the Year. He helped protect Boyles in the pocket and played a key role in the Cougars piling up 2,257 rushing yards over 12 games.

Other top District 4A-4 award winners included Broken Bow’s Greydon Howell (District MVP), Sallisaw’s Hunter Smith (Defensive Lineman of the Year), Broken Bow’s Cade Pratt (Linebacker of the Year), Sallisaw’s Case Adams (Quarterback of the Year), Poteau’s Camden Crew (Tight End of the Year), Tulsa McLain’s Arian Logan-Smith (Special Teams Player of the Year), Glenpool’s Devin Bailey (Newcomer of the Year) and Broken Bow’s Maverick Lang (Coach of the Year).

Five Ada players were named to the District 4A-4 First Team Offense: tight ends Kyler Gaddis and Owen Wofford, wide receiver Canaan Parker and offensive linemen Ashden Rowell and Jake Matthews.

Four Cougars earned First Team Defense honors: linebacker Eli Justus, defensive back Brayden McGilbray and defensive linemen Wyatt Killgore and Gus Matthews.

Ada defensive lineman Jayman Ivy, linebacker Cody Carpenter and defensive back Matthew Hutchins were named to the District 4A-4 Second Team Defense.

The Ada offensive line duo of Jimmy Velazquez-Gonzalez and Gage VanHorn received honorable mention on offense, while defensive lineman Nathan Hopstein and defensive back Creed Moore earned honorable mention honors on defense.

“We were well represented on the All-District team, and that’s a result of these kids’ hard work and the successful season they put together,” Ada head coach Wade Boyles said.
