Last week, I attempted to pick every Big Ten football game in Week 10 of the college football season. After going 14-2 over the prior two weeks, it was going to be tough to try and replicate my recent performances, but I certainly gave it my best effort.
So how did my picks fare? Let’s take a look and see:
Ohio State over Penn State
“Penn State couldn’t even beat Ohio State when they were good. How can we possibly expect a different result now that the Nittany Lions, to put it bluntly, suck?”
The last time that Penn State beat Ohio State, Barack Obama was president, the mannequin challenge was about to become the internet’s hottest trend, and the reigning Super Bowl winning quarterback was Peyton Manning.
Record: 1-0
Illinois over Rutgers
“The Illini bounce back from last week’s ugly loss at Washington.”
Illinois dominated in this one.
Record: 2-0
Indiana over Maryland
“Indiana looks like an elite team.”
Indiana is an elite team.
Record: 3-0
Minnesota over Michigan State
“I think that Jonathan Smith gets another year at Michigan State, but I have absolutely no idea what the direction of that program is right now.”
An absolutely brutal overtime loss for the Spartans.
Record: 4-0
Michigan over Purdue
“Purdue has not won a conference game in nearly two years. That streak continues.”
Purdue is still winless in Big Ten play, and their final three games are against Ohio State, Washington, and Indiana. This streak is going to continue into 2026.
Record: 5-0
Nebraska over USC
“This pick has absolutely nothing to do with Nebraska (who I do not think is a very good team), and everything to do with me having zero faith in the Trojans to win on the road in a hostile environment.”
Good for Lincoln Riley for proving me wrong.
Overall Record: 5-1
Overall Performance
For the third week in a row, I got every game correct but one. This week, however, my one loss was because I picked against Lincoln Riley and the Trojans. I’m sorry for doubting you, coach. I won’t pick against you this coming week against Northwestern (but I probably will at Oregon in a few weeks).
