Alabama football has added a veteran piece to its defensive line.

Former Mississippi State and North Carolina defensive lineman Kedrick Bingley-Jones is transferring to the Crimson Tide for his final season of eligibility, per On3.

Bingley-Jones is Alabama‘s eighth transfer portal addition joining defensive players like former Virginia Tech linebacker Caleb Woodson and former USC defensive lineman Devan Thompkins.

Kedrick Bingley-Jones stats

In five collegiate seasons split between the Bulldogs and the Tar Heels, Bingley-Jones had 40 tackles and 2.5 tackles-for-loss.

Bingley-Jones missed the majority of the 2024 season with an injury, but broke out from the middle of Mississippi State’s defensive line, recording 25 tackles, 0.5 tackles-for-loss and a pass deflection in a career high 343 snaps, per Pro Football Focus.

Before 2025, Bingley-Jones’ most snaps in a season was 125 in an injury-shortened 2024.

Most of Bingley-Jones’ time was spent covering the B gap on the interior for the Bulldogs in 2025.

Kedrick Bingley-Jones eligibility

After redshirting the 2020 season with the Tar Heels with an injury and playing in four games in 2024, Bingley-Jones has one season remaining of eligibility.

What Kedrick Bingley-Jones brings to Alabama football

Bingley-Jones gives Alabama some experience on the interior of its defensive line.

After James Smith and Keon Keeley elected to enter the transfer portal, and with Tim Keenan III out of eligibility, Bingley-Jones is another interior piece to pair with Thompkins and players like Edric Hill and London Simmons.

While not the most productive player, Bingley-Jones knows SEC football, and has his most experienced season this past season in SEC football. Depth will be vital, which Bingley-Jones brings.
