The Georgia Bulldogs are in on an elite cornerback decommit. Three-star cornerback Nash Johnson III, who decommitted from the Alabama Crimson Tide, revealed his top six teams, according to Riley Alberts of 247Sports. Georgia made the list, along with Clemson, Auburn, Miami, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. He will decide his college team on June 24.
Johnson III is a three-star cornerback from the class of 2027. The 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback recruit plays high school football for McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. He is the No. 58 cornerback prospect in the nation. Johnson is the No. 67 recruit in Georgia and the No. 582 prospect nationally.
Georgia is in desperate need of cornerback recruits after watching five-star cornerback Donte Wright flip to Miami and four-star corner Jerry Outhouse flip to UCLA.
They’ve tried with several defensive backs, such as four-star safety Kailib Dillard and four-star cornerback Chase Johnson. Unfortunately, they struck out on both of those recruits, as Dillard committed to Florida and Johnson committed to Virginia Tech.
As a result of those two flips, Georgia now has the No. 27 class in the nation. They have just seven recruits in the class of 2027 so far. There’s still plenty of time to rectify this, though.
As for Johnson, recruiting websites are currently picking Auburn as the favorite to land him. The Auburn Tigers earned a Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports, and Rivals’ prediction model has him going to Auburn as well.
