Alabama has extended a scholarship offer to Springfield, Tennessee sophomore Jermaine Cobbins.

Cobbins is a four‑star cornerback. He announced the offer via X on Jan. 21, according to The Tennessean’s Harrison Campbell.

Cobbins is rated the No. 1 recruit in Tennessee for the Class of 2028 and the No. 35 overall prospect nationally in the 247Sports Composite. Alabama joins a growing list of Power Four programs pursuing the Springfield standout, including Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Indiana and others.

The offer comes months after Cobbins visited Tuscaloosa for Alabama’s win over Vanderbilt on Oct. 4. He also made stops at Tennessee, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Auburn and Penn State during a busy fall slate.

Cobbins starred on both sides of the ball this season as Springfield reached the TSSAA playoffs for the 12th straight year. He recorded 41 tackles, a 100‑yard interception return for a touchdown, and added 1,186 all‑purpose yards and 12 scores on offense. He earned All‑Midstate Large Class first‑team honors from The Tennessean and was selected to both the TSWA and Tennessee Football Coaches Association All‑State teams.
