Cederian Morgan is no longer the only wide receiver in Alabama football’s 2026 recruiting class.
Maurice Mathis Jr., a wide receiver out of Warner Robins, Georgia, confirmed his commitment to the Crimson Tide in the 2026 recruiting class.
According to multiple reports, Mathis has signed and will enroll early at Alabama.
Mathis, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver from Houston County High School, was not ranked in the 247Sports’ composite rankings. He reported offers from programs such as Vanderbilt, South Florida, James Madison, Western Kentucky and Mercer. He was a former Samford commit.
With Mathis, Alabama has eight scholarship receivers on its roster, along with Morgan, Ryan Williams, Rico Scott, Lotzeir Brooks, Derek Meadows, MJ Chirgwin, who announced he would return to the Crimson Tide on scholarship, and NC State transfer Noah Rogers.
As a senior, Mathis had 1,207 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns on 62 catches, per 247Sports, following up a season with 1,025 yards and 11 touchdowns on 64 receptions, per MaxPreps.
Alabama still has the No. 2 recruiting class per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
