An Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back is set to enter the transfer portal for the second time in his collegiate career.

Redshirt sophomore Kameron Howard announced his decision to enter the portal in a social media post on Saturday. A former three-star recruit and cornerback out of Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, Howard spent his freshman season with the Charlotte 49ers in the American Conference in 2023.

Listed as 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Howard joined Alabama via the spring transfer portal in April 2024 and played in four games for coach Kalen DeBoer in his first season in Tuscaloosa. He recorded two tackles.

This season, Howard recorded two tackles (one solo, 0.5 TFL) in Alabama's 73-0 shutout win over UL Monroe on Sept. 6 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. He also saw action in the Crimson Tide's 38-14 win over the Wisconsin Badgers in Week 3.

The transfer portal officially opens on Jan. 2, one day after Alabama's College Football Playoff quarterfinals matchup against No. 1 Indiana in the Rose Bowl.

Kickoff for Alabama-Indiana is 3 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ESPN.
