Alabama football lands commitment from 2026 wide receiver

On Sunday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tidelanded a commitment from 2026 wide receiver Maurice Mathis Jr..
Mathis is a former commit to Samford, whom he had previously been committed to since July 2025.
The Crimson Tide's newest commit is currently unranked as a prospect, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, and attends Houston County High School in Georgia. Mathis is also coming off a massive senior season where he hauled in 62 receptions for 1,207 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Following the commitment of Mathis, Alabama's 2026 class now features two wide receivers, the second of which is four-star Cederian Morgan.
