An Alabama football outside linebacker is heading to the NCAA transfer portal

On3's Hayes Fawcett announced that Noah Carter, a Wolf outside linebacker out of Peoria, Arizona, would enter the transfer portal, following offensive lineman Olaus Alinen as the 10th Crimson Tide player to enter after the 2025 season.

Carter, a former four-star, originally signed his letter of intent with Washington, but decided to follow coach Kalen DeBoer to Alabama in the 2024 recruiting class.

The redshirt freshman appeared in three games for Alabama in 2024, recording nine tackles and 0.5 tackles-for-loss.

"This is Noah Carter's second year," Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack said in August. "You see him taking steps in the right direction, but, eventually, there will come a point where, if he'll keep pushing, you just see a massive step that a guy takes."

Alabama is expected to have both Qua Russaw and Yhonzae Pierre back in 2026 along with freshman Justin Hill.
