One SEC game remains for Alabama football, one that carries a lot of weight for the Crimson Tide.

No. 10 Alabama’s 56-0 win against Eastern Illinois did nothing to change the position in which the Crimson Tide entered Saturday, Nov. 22: prime position for an SEC championship game berth with a win in the Iron Bowl.

If Alabama beats Auburn, Alabama will secure a place in the SEC championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Crimson Tide is one of three one-loss SEC teams sitting behind Texas A&M, which is undefeated in conference play.

Of the one-loss teams, according to an unofficial SEC tiebreaker, Alabama holds the conference opponent win percentage over Ole Miss and Georgia, along with the head-to-head advantage over the Bulldogs after Alabama beat Georgia 24-21 in Athens Saturday, Sept. 27.

If Texas A&M beats Texas and Alabama beats Auburn, the Crimson Tide would face the Aggies.

If Texas beats Texas A&M and Alabama beats Auburn, the Crimson Tide would secure a rematch against Georgia in the SEC title game.

Alabama kicks off against Auburn at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Nov. 29.
