Alabama football has its next offensive line coach.
Adrian Klemm, a former Super Bowl-winning offensive lineman who has coaching stints with UCLA, Oregon, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots, was named as the Crimson Tide‘s next offensive line coach according to multiple reports.
Klemm replaces Chris Kapilovic, who is departing from Kalen DeBoer’s staff after two seasons in Tuscaloosa.
Klemm spent the 2025 season as a senior defensive analyst at USC.
Who is Adrian Klemm?
Before his extensive career as an offensive line coach, Klemm earned some hardware as a player.
Klemm is a three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, the team that selected him as a second-round pick in the 2000 NFL draft. In six seasons between the Patriots and Green Bay Packers, Klemm made 18 starts across 42 games.
Ending his NFL career as a practice squad member of the Oakland Raiders in 2007, Klemm started his coaching career as an SMU graduate assistant in 2008, spending four seasons with the Mustangs with promotions to offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.
Klemm had college stops at UCLA from 2012-16 and held the run game coordinator, offensive line coach and associate head coach titles in parts of five seasons.
After a three-year stint on Mike Tomlin’s staff with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2019-21, Klemm was the associate head coach, run game coordinator and offensive line coach at Oregon in 2022 on Dan Lanning’s first staff.
Klemm was the New England Patriots’ offensive line coach in 2023 under Bill Belichick before joining Lincoln Riley’s staff at USC as a senior defensive analyst in 2025.
How have Adrian Klemm offensive lines performed?
Klemm led one of the best offensive lines in college football in 2022.
In his one season with the Ducks, Oregon allowed the fewest sacks in college football. The combination of Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, T.J. Bass, Alex Forsyth, Marcus Harper II and Ryan Walk allowed five sacks in 13 games, two fewer than any other program in college football.
With Oregon’s highly-touted offensive line, the Ducks scored 38.8 points per game and was one of six offenses to average more than 500 yards per game. Oregon also had the 12th best run game in the country, averaging 215.8 yards per game and 5.5 yards per carry, headlined by Bucky Irving and quarterback Bo Nix.
Klemm also helped develop former UCLA offensive lineman Xavier Su’a Filo, who was named as the Morris Trophy winner in 2013, given to the best offensive lineman in the Pac-12.
In his last season as a full-time offensive line coach, with the Patriots in 2023, Klemm’s line allowed 36 sacks. The Patriots run game, headlined by Ezekiel Elliott and Rhamondre Stevenson, averaged 3.9 yards per rush.
