Alabama football saw a new Jam Miller late in the 2025 regular season.

After seven games of averaging 3.5 yards per touch with seven runs of 10 yards or more and two touchdowns, Miller broke free against Eastern Illinois and Auburn. He had 145 yards on 26 carries. He averaged over 5.5 yards per carry with multiple 20-yard touches. He had one score: a 1-yard scamper against the Panthers.

And when Miller didn’t play against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, the Alabama run game struggled mightily, generating -3 yards on 16 carries with Daniel Hill leading all ball carriers with 11 rushing yards.

As Alabama prepares for a first-round College Football Playoff date with Oklahoma Friday, Dec. 19, Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has higher expectations than just Miller’s availability.

Grubb expects to see a Miller who is revitalized, one who runs like the player who showed up against Eastern Illinois and Auburn.

Grubb expects Miller: the contributor.

“Jam’s always got a fire,” Grubb said. “But yeah, he looks great. He was out there running around today. Did an awesome job. Feel like he’ll be a full go, ready to contribute.”

Alabama will take on Oklahoma in the first round of the CFP at 7 p.m. CT Friday, Dec. 19.
