Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide have been busy this offseason landing commitments for the future. On Friday, the program landed another one, this time being a four-star quarterback recruit.

Reports indicate that Kingston Preyear, an Alabama native, committed to the Crimson Tide, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals and On3 Sports. It’s said that Preyear chose Alabama over SEC rivals Florida and Vanderbilt.

“BREAKING: Four-Star QB Kingston Preyear has Committed to Alabama, he tells me for Rivals,” reported Fawcett. “The 6’4, 200 lbs QB chose the Crimson Tide over Florida and Vanderbilt. He’s ranked as the No. 4 QB in the 2028 Rivals Industry Rankings.”

Before committing to Alabama, other schools that were on Preyear’s list, along with Florida and Vanderbilt, were Auburn and Ole Miss. It appears he was going to an SEC program regardless, and the Crimson Tide came out on top.

Kingston Preyear is currently attending Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Alabama, which is the No. 24-ranked school in the state for football and the No. 578-ranked school in the nation for football. Preyear is in the 2028 class and is currently ranked as the No. 4 quarterback on Rivals’ rankings, and is considered the No. 56-ranked player in the nation.

The Crimson Tide are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation for recruiting the 2028 class, while also being No. 1 in the SEC. Rivals has reported that Kalen DeBoer has already landed five commitments for 2028, with two of them being considered Blue Chips. Kingston Preyear is the highest-rated commitment for the class for now.
