According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, the Alabama Crimson Tide have reportedly landed a commitment Ty Haywood, a now former offensive lineman at Michigan.
Haywood, who comes to Alabama via the NCAA transfer portal, will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.
A former top recruit, Haywood recently spent the 2025 season at Michigan as a true freshman where he appeared in only two games for the Wolverines as a reserve offensive lineman.
Prior to Michigan, Haywood was considered as the nation’s No. 39 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 6 offensive tackle nationally out of Ryan High School in Texas. The four-star recruit was also an Alabama commit from July 2024 to Jan. 2025, and eventually signed with Michigan in Feb. 2025.
Haywood becomes the second Michigan offensive lineman to transfer to Alabama this offseason alongside Kaden Strayhorn, and joins the Crimson Tide as a potential immediate impact player in 2026.
